The mysterious street artist known only as P183 let little to be known of himself. Creating eye catching pieces of art throughout Moscow. Acquiring the nickname "Banski" to some, drawing comparison to Britain's Banksy. His mural-style graffiti may be where they get such a comparison. Both P183 and Banksy share well thought out undertones (which some may have viewed as political) kept their identities closely guarded and are painters of the night. What separates them is their unique styles. Like any graffiti artist no surface is unpaintable or "safe", median dividers, walls, even on bridges. Also undertaking fairly ambitious mixed media installations.
Sometimes a piece of Art is closer then you think. It could very well be living inside of you favorite book. There is no doubt that I love all types of fairy tales and have a pretty extensive collection of them. Inside some of those books hold beautifully ornate illustrations. Why wouldn't you/I want to display them in any fashion. With that in mind I grabbed one (of my many) favorite books and made an Art print.
Locked inside a frame to sit on my desk, to stare at when my mind needs a break from the task at hand. With neglect comes an update. Bringing forth more Art as I update everyone on my journey.
Not sure how the weather is around other parts of the world but in my backyard this November it's sunny and bright. The air isn't crisp, it really doesn't feel like fall at all. So with the sun on my back and a spray can in hand, I felt the need to update some furniture.

Before After

Looks like I have the Midas touch. This little update didn't cost a thing since the table was on hand and I had the Gold spray paint, it took 2 coats and is ready to be set in its new dwelling place.
Don't be afraid of change or color. If you don't like the outcome it can easily be change to another color.
What happens when an artist gets inspired ? A spark ignites and she begins to become flooded with ideas. Of course I have to set these ideas into motion but there has to be a starting point somewhere.
Walking into museums always sends a creative surge through my body. Not all artists are procrastinators. Although it does seem as if they leave work incomplete or maybe that's as finished as they see it. Either way it was nice to take a break come back and be rejuvenated.
This picture of Art work is by Keith Harring and hangs in the MOMA in NYC.VivEhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13999114363382797816noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2672533157800526857.post-20601283136699995202011-03-18T18:42:00.000-07:002011-03-18T19:00:43.343-07:00Wind & Raindrops
Blues Music played as this Thursdays night Wind and Rain Competition went into swing. Sitting through the episode and as it gave it's nod to the upcoming Oscar's, there it was "Bansky's" signature. This has been his second appearance on the Simpsons the mysteriously talented artist has made on the show. At one point he even asked the Oscar's if he can accept his award is disguise. A crowd of people with masks of monkeys covering their faces and only one monkey reaching for the award. In turn the Oscar officials turned that idea down in fear of future copycats. Who knows in what form he will appear but I will be watching and hoping for the win.
Banksy did respond saying "This is a big surprise. Mixed media Art pieces dressed the walls for the Mixed Messages Art Show. Whimsical old pendants hung glued to canvas's like jewelry pieces, dressing the art work of KPaul one of the artists featured at the show. My friend and I read the quotes and poems to and of lovers. The guests in attendance were asked to enter a raffle to win a mini mixed media art piece. As the winner was being announced I heard my name.
Love is Touch

Music invokes so many emotions thoughts and feelings. For others it can take on color and shape. This piece that I have sculpted is influenced by John Lennon's "Love".
Love is touch, touch is love,
Love is reaching, reaching love,
Love is asking to be loved.
Love is you,
You and me,
John a song writer poet and artist used each art form as a vehicle for his messages. Even if it was in the simple act of love. The whimsical yet poetic act of Love. What stood out in my mind was the simplicity of touch and how easy you can set such an imprint on a person, lasting as long as a life time. Touch is the most powerful mean you have of expressing your love. It is straightforward and unmistakable. As the saying goes "some things are better left unsaid." through touch true words are spoken. Local shoppers came through to buy and pick Ornaments from either their favorite artist or one that caught their eye. Hand made little treasures made from wood, glass, and paper, painted with paint and some dusted with glitter. It was a great way for the artist to display their work, talent and imagination. Its used for art work as a preparation for surfaces such as wood panels, canvases, as a base for paint and other materials that are applied over it. In this case it was applied to the paper, then painted over using oil paint. The process took the artist about 22 hours to come up with painting 22 abstract paintings. On a Thursday evening the doors were opened at the Gallery for viewing. Paint still dripping wet and the Artist with tiered eyes, it was a success. On a Thursday evening the Gallery was filled with an eclectic crowd. Having to Share the Art evening with another local Artist John B. who also had paintings on display. While his were more traditional works of Art and what the local community is used to seeing (landscapes, portraits). There we were Expressing ourselves. Working the crowd I felt that nervous feeling leave my body. Such positive feed back and an eagerness to know more. The highlight of the evening was when I got to meet a Graffiti artist whose works have hit Galleries, Streets and Train rails. There looks to be more to come from this experience and new ventures. Fighting through the crowded lines, as people wait to get an autograph from their favorite superstar. There I was fighting to see live Art from various comic Artists. So many Artists on view each with a unique style. In a sense drawing you in so you can get a glance at their hand crafted pieces. As your the on looker they as well are looking for that person who will own a piece of their valued work.
It was great to stand behind a group of people all watching. An on looker would ask a question from ; What got you started? to How long have they been doing this line of work? All with very similar answers. It ranged from 8 to as long as 15 years but they all said I have been an Artist all my life and will you take that as my final answer. Some would argue that "Comic Art" is not a true Art form. Though anything that you can visualize in you mind and can put on paper is truly a masterpiece (in any form).
I managed to take a picture of what I shall call the Art Mile. Take a look what they have to offer they may amaze you like they did me.

Tommy Castillo - http://www.tommycastillo.net/
Nigel Sade - http://www.nigelsade.com/
Arthur Suydam - http://www.arthursuydam.com/VivEhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13999114363382797816noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2672533157800526857.post-11260346381608872532010-11-05T07:03:00.000-07:002010-11-05T07:23:23.868-07:00Still DreamingIt seems as though I am still dreaming. This time "the dream" has been presented to me, in the form of my own Art Show. By chance I was sitting in a crowded room and presented with this offer. The "Expression" being the multiple forms an artist can create.
Through creativity I am able to express myself.

My Expression is Artwork....VivEhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13999114363382797816noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2672533157800526857.post-44343188521828632592010-05-23T20:54:00.000-07:002010-05-23T21:27:19.919-07:00The Art Of Justin Bua Harlem rose
As the wind blows through the cracks, of the hustle and bustle of the NYC sidewalk.
Emerges through the crack,Harlem's rose.
Vibrations of hip hop, salsa, RnB help break it from its seam.
-Vi'VE

Justin Bua and his Harlem rose tributes the great voices of the Harlem's Renaissance.
The legacy left behind but not forgotten as new female artists' come forth paving their way.
So that their voices may never fade.

1981

When boom boxes and break dancing took the streets and shaped culture.
Those days became the non-violent outlet where rival gangs challenged each other.

http://www.justinbua.com/

Justin Bua with his Urban Sabor (flavor) and graffiti esq style. Over 50+ vendors from Fl, LA,, TX, and NYC. They gathered to sell original work and reprints, for those on a budget and wanting to support the love of all things art related. Metal works made into robot chickens, metal tanks with funky little people atop. Think I saw the garden Nome being taken away. Glass blowers who made water fountains, glass human sculptures to vases, beautiful pieces that seemed to shine as the suns rays hit them. All types, shapes, sizes of mixed media, wood working and paintings. So many on hand to take you and make you pause to stare. Makes you feel inspired, imaginative. Normally trains would be just another thing flying by over looked. If you stop and take notice every once and a while, you'll see they are big murals. If only I had the opportunity to abuse such a canvas, without the chances of being arrested. Couldn't help myself to stop and snap a few low quality shots to share and take notice that art is all around and instead of stopping to smell the flowers, stop and gaze at train cargo.

"Some people become Police to make the world a better place, some people become vandals to make the world a better looking place."
— BanksyVivEhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13999114363382797816noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2672533157800526857.post-11347137951457129732010-03-19T22:36:00.000-07:002010-03-19T23:06:47.551-07:00Gallery Day : Shades Of Green Exibit
Main Street Gallery: Recycled works into art
Holding my breath not sure to release what was left. Jan., Feb. (missed Valentines Day), here we are in March. As the branches bud with leaves so have I. With news that March 19, 2010 my art will be featured in the Shades of Green exhibit. My art as well as other local artists, will put on display recycled material in all different forms of art. Never thought this winding road would leave me to actually submit something for people to dissect with their eyes.
Thank you for everyone's encouraging words and support. Within me is bits of everyone and with all of you in mind is how I am inspired to create.VivEhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13999114363382797816noreply@blogger.com4tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2672533157800526857.post-90312181716449834022009-12-10T16:54:00.000-08:002009-12-10T17:41:26.857-08:00Stained Glass Mary

It's close to Christmas time. In my eyes and mind everything is a paintable surface. I do give back to Mother Earth by doing my part, creating art. What's unique is that the can creates a unique surface to paint on.
VivEhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13999114363382797816noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2672533157800526857.post-76978455303453020002009-10-05T07:34:00.000-07:002009-10-05T07:35:53.887-07:00Spray Art

You have probably noticed these fast sharp shooters with spray cans. The Spray Can as their tool, making surreal landscapes of planets, comets, pyramids, cities, and nature scenes. These Spray Arts can be made in masses because they can be quickly produced (thanks to their drying time). Me passing them by in NYC, Times Square is how I remember them. Standing on the cold concrete amazed at how quickly hands have to move to acquire a finished piece. They are found far and wide from the streets of LA, NYC, UK, Hawaii, it’s global. It is said to have been started in the 80’s in Mexico but I’m sure it dates farther than that. There are differences between me and them they do them on the street and I make them in my garage. It becomes so enjoyable to make Spray Art for the speed in takes to complete one. It’s hard to achieve an identical piece making each one unique.

VivEhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13999114363382797816noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2672533157800526857.post-68436805018217703662009-04-01T08:19:00.000-07:002010-01-26T14:34:55.841-08:00Ode To An Artist

Keith Haring - Who knows how many times as a little girl my parents drove into busy Manhattan on the FDR."There it is!" I would yell in my head. "It" was the marker that we were getting closer to My aunts house. Soon I would be walking up five flights of exhausting stairs. "It" was none other then Keith Haring's "Crack Is Wack" mural. Keith did many of these public drawings throughout NYC subway systems outlined in chalk over old advertisements, in the 1980's.In grabbing what the environment provided, of course. Keith would paint on metal, plastic and garden sanctuary's. This leads me to believe anything is a paint-able surface! The lines in this painting may be simple but simple isn't the dedication behind it. This painting is in tribute to his "DJ Dog" and my experiment to a late great artist that left behind imprints on the mind...
